Yes! We use the finest natural ingredients we can find. This includes herbs, butters, clay, sea salts, and natural oils.
Most of our products are preservative free and 100% organic! The shelf life of most of our items is 12 months from when you receive your product. Absolutely no formaldehyde, silicone, parabens, gluten (except where noted in the description) or BPA plastic is allowed at Kani Botanicals.
If we sell an item that has a water-based component (such as room sprays) we must use a gentle eco-preservative Leucidal (Radish Ferment) to retard the development of mold & bacteria.
NEVER EVER! Not only do we not test on animals but all of our products are 100% Vegan. All of our ingredients are vegan, yes every single one including our hard wax (candelilla) and all of our micas (carmine free). All of our products are tested on humans only. We love animals, and it is very important for us to stay cruelty-free. Because of that, we choose not to sell our products in countries that require animal testing.
Our goal is to provide products that are created from 100% organically sourced or wild-crafted ingredients & botanicals. We have been making and using the products we sell for years, all prepared in the studio of our urban farmstead in Spokane, Wa. The majority of our ingredients are sourced from within Washington, Oregon and Idaho, and most seasonal items come from surrounding farms in Green Bluff, the rest of the items are sourced within the US or with importers whose ethics align with ours.
Since our products are truly all-natural and we do not use any unnatural preservatives at all, our products do have a shelf life, typically 12-24 months. If our products are kept out of direct sunlight and at room temperature or below, they will stay fresher longer. All of our liquid products include totally natural preservatives called Leucidal (Radish Root Ferment) and Lactococonut (Coconut Extract). We also use Vitamin E, Grapefruit Seed Extract and Rosemary Extract in some of our products to extend the natural shelf life and keep the oils in their freshest and most potent form. Yes, all of our products are gluten free, and do not come in any contact with gluten during production, unless stated otherwise. Please email us if you have any questions about cross contamination with gluten.
Yes some of our products contain sweet almond oil and argan oil. These types of nut oil typically do not irritate people with nut allergies, but we recommend consulting your doctor first if you have a nut allergy.

Our products contain a variety of organic essential oils and ingredients from the mountains of Southern France, North Africa, Australia and the Mediterranean Basin. The suppliers we use align with our ethics. Due this to and shortages worldwide of ethically derived ingredients we sometimes have back orders. All of our shipping rates and methods can easily be seen during the checkout process prior to placing your final order. The rates displayed are reflective of shipping and handling.
Our products are enclosed in all glass vessels, and are quite heavy. We take every measure to safely package our ingredients to your doorstop to ensure safe arrival and hence shipping charges may vary on the amount of items, weight, and distance from our warehouse.
After an order is placed, please allow up to one week for your order to ship. We handcraft each item we send out. This includes creating, bottling, labeling, and shipping. Handcrafted items do take a little longer to produce than mass-produced items. Many of our items are made so they are at the peak of freshness when you receive them. Please let us know if you need an item by a certain date and we will always do our best to accommodate your needs.
For U.S. Orders: After shipping, please allow another week for your order to arrive. For International Orders: Please allow up to four weeks for your order to arrive after shipping. Usually it will arrive sooner, but customs departments do have the right to hold items and there is not much we can do about this. Also, we do not pay for anything to be released from customs to you.
For Back Orders: Sometimes we sell out of product our our bottle or jar supplier is out of stock . If that is the case an item will say out of stock and allow you to purchase a backorder item. If this is the case please allow up to four weeks for your order to arrive. please allow another week for your order to arrive. Usually it will arrive sooner, but sometimes it can take us up to 2 weeks to get our jars/ingredients in warehouse due to shortages.
Due to the nature of our products, returns cannot be accepted once they are opened. If you are unsure about a product, you may want to order small samples to be shipped with your other products. We want you to be completely satisfied with your order, so if the product does not meet your expectations, please contact us!
